Babywise Interview

So the Fox 2 News interview aired tonight.

I thought they did a great job with the story. Ezzo himself actually did a phone interview and they found a woman in the area who did Babywise with all 7 of her children.

They got some great feedback from a pediatrician who is opposed to the Babywise schedule. He had some good information. I really liked what he had to say.

My part in the story was soooo small! Ha ha! I looked terrible, too. My hair was really flat and blah-looking. I don't know what the deal was with that! Oh well.

I'm just really glad the story came out well. It actually seemed like the network was more in the anti-Ezzo camp. The final statement came from the pediatrician who likens the book's practices to someone who doesn't use a carseat and made the point that just because the baby lives through the experience doesn't tell us anything more than just that - they LIVED through the experience.

Ezzo of course said that the opposition to the book is blown out of proportion. Ummm, yeah, that's why the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a statement against it. He also said something about scare tactics. That totally makes no sense. We are trying to scare people into responding to their baby's needs? How dare we!

He also tried to downplay it saying that this is all stuff that our grandmothers did and basically what Dr. Spock recommends. That made me laugh. I've noticed that about their website, too. They are trying to smooth things over.

Anyway, Ben is going to put the segment on our website since Fox didn't. Hopefully it'll be up in a day or two.
